Jared Winslow
Video Editor, Animator, Photographer, YouTuber, Creative, based in New York City.
Who am I?
I’m Jared Winslow, a passionate, full stack creative who lives for storytelling and the creative process. With 6 years of industry experience working full time as a video editor and animator, I started building my YouTube channel last year on the side where I’ve gained almost 5,000 subscribers, become a YouTube Partner, and started working with brands in NYC, while also building my freelance creative and photography businesses on the side. When not wearing those hats, I’m feeding my soul by wandering the streets of new york city with my camera as a street photographer, documenting the day to day moments we often overlook. This is what makes me feel alive.
What Do I Do?
-
Video Editor
With a proficiency in adobe premiere after 6 years of working as a full time video editor for my current company, I deliver strong, detail oriented, efficient and client first results. I edit a wide range of projects from corporate interviews, to sizzle reels for my freelance projects, color grade, sound design, cut to music, edit the audio in Adobe Audition, and more.
-
YouTuber / Photographer / Street Photographer
On the side of my full time job, I have a YouTube channel that I started posting consistently on last year, where I’m proud to say I’ve become a YouTube Partner. I make videos about street photography/photography offering tips and tricks, and vlog my experience living here in nyc, all in hopes to inspire others to follow their dreams and do more of what they love. I do the whole process…concepting video ideas, scripting, filming, editing, color grading, sound design, choosing music, uploading, marketing, and doing it all over again.
-
Animator
In conjunction with being a Video Editor, I’m also an animator in my current full time role and freelance/personal projects. Working in Adobe After Effects, I animate LT’s, title/chapter plates, explainer videos, character animation, transitions, and more.

Work Examples
YouTube / Video Editing / Animation
Besides being a photographer, I’ve been working Full Time as a Video Editor and 2D Animator for the last 6 years, creating engaging training content for our clients. With that experience, I started working freelance, editing video and animating for clients, and also building my own passion project, my YouTube channel, where I post weekly about photography and my life experiences.
I’m very proud to say that as of January 2024, I am officially a YouTube Partner.
Events Sizzle Reel for Camunda (Client Project)
Camunda is a software company who produces a framework that enables organizations to orchestrate processes across people, systems, and devices to continuously overcome complexity and increase efficiency.
They reached out to me to photograph their annual conference, CamundaCon, and then also asked if I’d be willing to edit a sizzle reel for them, hyping up viewers to attend their events in the future. They provided the clips, and let me have at it. I chose a song that I felt matched the mood, chose from their clips, animated the LTs and graphics on screen, and the video to the right is the final result.
RCP Learning 2D Animated Christmas Card
I was tasked with conceptualizing and animating our company’s Christmas card in 2023. I came up with the idea, our designer illustrated the pieces, and I animated everything, along with adding music and doing sound design. After a couple rounds, this was the final result.
2D Animation for Documentary (Client Project)
A client hired me to animate a segment for a documentary he was working on that shared the story of a historic mill building, that was destroyed in a flood. He sent me the file VO that you hear in the background, a few drone clips that he had, and gave me creative freedom to do what I wanted.
From there, I storyboarded, created assets in adobe illustrator, sourced material online, animated in adobe after effects, incorporated their broll in, and here we are.
Rush Hour at Rockefeller Cinematic.
Filmed by my roommate, edited by me in Premiere Pro, we attempted to capture the energy of taking photos during rush hour in new york city. I chose the song, did some color grading, and added sound effects.
A Day of Street Photography in NYC.
A video that shows more of my character, and who I am as a person. Concepted, filmed, edited in Premiere Pro, by me.
Tips & Tricks
The two videos below are two of my favorites I’ve made. The first one is a guide/review video where I share my experience and give insight for others using the Canon T7i, my main camera for the last 7 years on my photography journey. In the second video, I share tips and observations I’ve made while making street photography when you’re not in a traditional city environment, or, a small town. I strive to show through storytelling as much as possible, as opposed to tell.

Jared was able to juggle this video project during the end of year holiday season. We had a long check list of items we wanted to see in this video, and he nailed everything! We only needed a few minor changes after the first draft, and he worked with us to make sure we were happy with the final version. Definitely recommend working with him!

You designed my website last October and did an amazing job! I was very nervous about the digital referral to a Webmaster whom I had not actually met. Your work was creative, timely, affordable and quality. I especially appreciated your positive attitude as you completed the project in a very short time limit. I highly recommend you as a really excellent Freelancer. You would be a tremendous asset to any organization. Great connecting with you, and looking forward to working with you again!

We had the pleasure of working with Jared in January, 2023. He came to us by way of referral and we could not have been more pleased with his service. From start to finish, Jared was amazing to work with. He was timely when responding to calls and email and was even early the day of our event! Jared listened to our vision, and offered expertise/suggestions of his own. He made us feel extremely comfortable when shooting and our photos came out stellar. We used every single corner of the event space for shooting. Jared was even amendable to standing in the middle of traffic to capture a shot we had in mind! We would highly recommend Jared' services and would use him again should we ever find ourselves in need of photography services in the future.
